is it possible to simply use/import the nxt/acad materials in nxt/revit?

Revit looks for a material with the same name as the Revit Material, stored in the Revit Project folder.

So you will need to copy the ACAD nXt materials to this folder, and perhaps rename them to match the Revit Material names.

We may be able to make this easier, after we see if it works for you. (e.g. provide a way to fetch and rename a ACAD material using a browser window)

Give it a try and see if it works.

Let us know if you need help finding your ACAD materials, finding the Revit project folder, or determining the material names needed.

sorry, I need some more help

by "Revit Material" do you mean a file containing the material definition?

if yes, which is the file extension?

by "Revit Project folder" do you mean the folder/directory containing the .rvt model file, or some directory under the revit program code directory tree , kinda "C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Revit Architecture 2011"

i found the nxt_acad here "C:\Program Files\AccuRender nXt\Support\Carpet\Solid Colors" , so i am looking to a target diectory to copy these  ".ArMaterial files"

regards

right now iget something like the attached rendering, i'm not able to change materials, I do not understand the process

the same thing in acad_nxt looks like this

In nXt for Revit, you'll have to map the Revit materials to the AccuRender materials, to see the results you want.

Start by using the dialogs shown below to select a .ArMaterial file from the disk to be mapped to a Revit material, by material name.

Here I'm selecting a Birch .ArMaterial file to be used for the material "Wood - Birch" in Revit.

Try that first, to see how the process works, and then we can discuss how to make the process easier.

tnx, very kind

the oak parkett was somehow stubborn, but i managed to assign and then reassign materials.

-one more thing, when I'm checking for ground in presets, the ground shouws up in the room, obviously it is a virtual plane at level zero. uncheck, and the wood finish will show. is there a a way to assign a certain level for this automatic ground?

Ground Plane elevation is on the Options/Background tab:

ok, tnx

another question

I tryed to mimic oakwood floor, bi using a tile effect in the material editor. is there a simple way to rotate the tile with lets say 90 degrees without inversing x with y? just rotate

Comfy Lounge

Model, A Comfy Lounge, by Surya Murali from 3D Warehouse. I added HDRi background, set wattage of interior lights, and added reflection to mirror, vase and floor. 124 passes in Packet Mode, 1 1/2 hours rendering time.
