Plenty of disk space etc, you got me thinking I hadnt looked at what was happening cpu wise in taskmanager. It is interesting sketchup never uses more than 25% of the cpu and the ram always has at least 4gb free even with sketchup and irender…

Hi Mike, rendered the file on 40 passes with the sketchup pixel size and it took 10minutes 26 secs which whilst not horific still slower than your machine. Does antivirus software or something like that have an impact? The customer is only running…

Hi Andy While you are waiting for a technical response from Al or Rich I thought I would post a comment. With the spec of your machine your renders should fly ! Like you I use Windows 7 64bit. My Acer  machine has an Intel Core i5 (quad core)…

Hi Andy

IrenderNXT is all about processor performance (and RAM to some extent) The graphics card has no bearing on render speeds.

Just a thought but are you rendering with all your cores ?

If you go to NXT setup options (little yellow clipboard)

Then click 'More' you will see you have a choice of how many cores to use - make sure its set to all of them (or all but one if you want to do something processor intensive whilst the render is taking place in the background)

I think NXT defaults to using all cores but its worth checking.

Regards and good luck

Comfy Lounge

Model, A Comfy Lounge, by Surya Murali from 3D Warehouse. I added HDRi background, set wattage of interior lights, and added reflection to mirror, vase and floor. 124 passes in Packet Mode, 1 1/2 hours rendering time.
