Revit 2012
5 Replies

Hi Al,1) Is there an easy way to change a file so I can use it with Revit 2012?2) At some point, when you have the time, wondering if you can check out the new API to see if it fixes those problems…Continue

Initial FBX load
8 Replies

Hi Rich,I've noticed that nXt for AutoCAD doesn't need a model load, or it's split-second. I haven't been able to guage on imported FBX files, because of course, AutoCAD products aren't…Continue

GPU

Is there a best GPU (or CPU for that matter)? I assume CUDA is not part of the discussion, per se, as I think, and forgive my ignorance, the software has to be specifically configured for it? But,…Continue

Sun settings?

The Sun Settings has been dropped from the Menu Bar. I assumed this meant that nXt would be directed by Revit's settings, but that doesn't seem to be the case. For instance, I get the same shadows…Continue

I could certainly do that. If I set that up, how would I automatically load the .ArMaterials in Sketchup?

OMG, if you could port ArMaterials right into the 3D PDF...!

Revit Window layers problem solved. Revit automatically assigns the window "Opening" (the hole Revit puts in walls for the opening) its own Revit subcategory under the Windows Category. That "Opening" category needs to be…

Al, is there a way for me to import my .ArMaterials into Sketchup?

Works GREAT. Tips: 1) The layer names, plus a few extra ones (not sure yet why, but the same ones were created with the broken ruby, too), are produced in a Paint Bucket category called "In Model." Adjust the materials there and it works…

I've been trying to post at SketchUcation (saw you there today), because I found a Ruby that TIG wrote 1-1/2 years ago that might be useful, but they haven't cleared my posts yet. Currently, my workaround in Sketchup is to make sure my…

It doesn't appear to work. One of the problems, I guess, is that these guys probably have to constantly update their plugins for new versions of Sketchup (which is now 8). I'm sure you tried to find a way to convert the "color by…

"could set the transparency of the glass by layer." - - - Exactly. That would solve it for me, short of a more direct solution for Revit to RPS 3D PDF (heaven). The glass actually does come in on its own layer. And I can set most of my…

I didn't know there was a difference?!:) So...yes on both! (what's the difference. I know RPS 3D PDF is interactive, but don't know what 3D PDF/Rendered image is...).

Hi Al, I was having trouble quickly assigning "glass" material to Revit windows imported to Sketchup (via .dwg). And I found you had been chasing this down in 2008 via Ruby's "Material by Layer." Did you ever figure it out…

Al. This thing is great. Questions 1) Any thoughts of a plug-in for Revit? 2) The walkthroughs are great, but seem always to hit a limit upon entering a structure, whereupon you cannot advance any further (it slows down to its stop-point). Is the a…

Hi Rich, That works (thanks!) but currently affects nXt's first phase, called "Saving FBX data" (it takes 2.5 times as long in 2012). So, I'm sure that will be some adjustment as we go along.
